Barnyards & Backyards provides professional care for your animals at your home, barn or stable. Areas serviced include Troy and surrounding towns in the Monadnock Region.

A typical visit will last 20-60 minutes or more, depending on the amount and type of animals that are being cared for, as well as any extra services requested.  Administering regular medication is also included at no extra cost.

Services such as stall cleanings, grooming and exercising can be requested at an additional charge.

In addition to caring for your animals, we can also perform optional household tasks, including taking in your mail & newspapers, turning on and off lights, watering plants, and more. These tasks are free on request, and help to give your home a “lived in” look to deter potential burglars while you are away.

No pets or taking them with you? No problem! We do house checks too! We’ll check in on your home once or twice a week, or whenever you prefer to make sure everything is safe, secure and in good working order.

Barnyards & Backyards focuses on the care of horses, livestock, poultry & exotics (as well as your dogs, cats & house pets that you may also have). We have experience in the care of horses, poultry, sheep, pigs, fish, dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, birds, rabbits, ferrets, and many other animals.

An initial interview is necessary to allow the sitter to go over any questions, special instructions, and to see the locations of food & supplies, as well as to allow you to fill out the required paperwork. It also gives a chance for the sitter and your pet to meet and become accustomed while you are present.

For new clients, four (4) days notice is required before services are to begin, to allow time to schedule an interview, fill out required paperwork, meet the pets & go over the routine, and go over any details.

For established clients who have already received initial interview/prior service, regular visits/services can take place within 24 hours of a verbal confirmation.

Please note:  Services WILL NOT begin before talking to you on the phone to receive updated care and contact information. If you get our voicemail, please leave a time and number where it is best to reach you and we will return your call as soon as possible. Visits and services will begin ONLY after a verbal confirmation. Please keep this policy in mind before planning your trip for the safety and comfort of your animals.

Barnyards & Backyards Farm & Pet Sitting reserves the right to refuse service to any client for any reason.
